Okay :) I'll keep on working on my version. It was a genius move excluding some part of the Apple logo like that - Edit.. the reason I *might* believe that the graphics are okay is due to me not using a dark wallpaper like you. I will test up against that.

I did the traffic lights for utility/small windows. They didn't seem to give me any trouble.

I think I may be using the wrong red one though, it looks like it sticks out further than the green one >.>

    This looks very good!

Has anyone discovered a way to customize the menu bar? it would be nice if I could make it darker.

This is the only way to do it right now. https://manytricks.com/menubartint/

You have to get the colors just right

    Top: 100% Opacity White
    Middle: 50% Opacity Black
    Bottom: 100% Opacity Black
    Mouse Inside/Outside Opacity: About 30%

This will give you a menubar with a 3D shaded grey look. If you want some of your desktop color to show through like on OS X I suggest putting a hint of your desktop wallpaper's color in the Middle and Bottom colors.

Hope that wasn't too confusing >.>

Your instructions were perfectly clear, and after following them, the menu bar looks much better now. Thanks!

I can't tell, but does it persist through reboots?

I guess there's only one way to find out...

Not really related, but judging on the new iBooks..... I mean "Books" icon we will be stuck in FlatOS™ Hell for quite a while... we better keep working on Aqua-Lick, people -_-

    @bhtwo: That looks nice!

By the way, I'm contemplating an upgrade to Sierra, but I'm not sure if all my "beautifications" will work 100% (I know for a fact that the icons will work, but the font replacement isn't 100% perfect).

The theme you all are working on here should work fine, though.

    Right?

OK, I upgraded to Sierra, and every time I try installing this theme, the App Store and Mail apps break.

Whenever I put the normal files back in, those two apps run fine.

    Any ideas?

Well it wasn't exactly designed to run on Sierra. Sierra and High Sierra use different art .car files. Sure lots of the assets are the same between each version but they are in different orders.

In order to get it to work with Sierra we'll have to extract the images inside the .car files and manually replace the ones in Sierra.

If you post your systemappearence.car file here I'll be happy to edit it for you but I'm not 100% where EVERYTHING goes. Best I can do is give you grey windows and the OS X traffic lights. Thats the meat and potatoes anyway, the rest of what we do is done with other applications.

I see. Seems odd when you consider that they're 90% the same OS. Just Apple being Apple, I suppose.

Gladly! It's attached to this post. I'd be happy to help test as needed, since I'm presently using Sierra.

That's OK, those are the parts that are bothering me most anyway. Avtually, is it possible to make a Mavericks-themed version as well? I know it's more work, but I'd like to see something like that get done.

Perhaps, if you tell me what tools you're using, I can go get them and lend a hand? Theme Engine?

Thank you for making my first experience on this forum a pleasant one!

EDIT: Forgot to attach the file, which seems to be too big, so I've used Drop Box: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wxkm2jdyi0bovxl/SystemAppearance.car.zip?dl=0

Well thats just damn peculiar.... looking at your Sierra file I can't find the new traffic lights... all I can find is ones that resemble the Mavericks lights o_O

Allan, you're gonna have to weigh in here with your genius. What the foop?

How can the Sierra SystemAppearance.car have the Mavericks lights and not even have the lights FOR SIERRA?

What the hoop... I was going to write earlier .. I can't explain that

@cc333 welcome btw. Glad to have you on board.. ThemeEngine is the one, yes.

I have the original SystemAppearance for Sierra I'm sure..

    Edit: http://jmp.sh/Og6eJZr

Those are the 10.12.5 car files.

cc's file might be useful, Allan. I see some Aqua stuff in there with the same (or at least very similar) size specs to whats in High Sierra.

Alright - I thought everything was messed up swell. are there any aqua checkmark and radio buttons?

I'll take a look myself :D How dumb of me. the file is right there for download

Wow.. thanks @cc333 - there's a lot of goodies in that file.

And thanks to @Princess Cake too. I think it might be a file from a German computerclub that one could purchase. Which I also did but don't have anymore.

Aha! This is not as hard as I thought!!

I found Theme Engine, and I was able to copy and paste the assets from the HS theme and put them into my Sierra SystemApperance.car. I can post it for anyone who's interested?

Also, I must apologize because earlier I posted the version from XRevert by accident. It seems to be more or less complete, but far from perfect (there are numerous visual glitches that make it look kinda like a vague approximation of Mavericks, sorta like what I imagine one might see in a Linux theme). It does have Aqua check boxes and stuff though, so that might be fun.

Also, has anyone tried decomposing the equivalent files in Mavericks or Snow Leopard to have a look-see? If one can take assets from those, perhaps they can attain more accurate representations of various GUI widgets for the (High) Sierra theme?

I extracted the Snow Leopard files just fine using ThemePark 4 >.> theres a buttload of assets in there but the problem is trying to make them fit in High Sierra is a pain and a half. Everything is so thin now because its all white rounded rectangles EVERYWHERE. You can't place anything because there simply isn't room for it anymore :/ Remember the search bar used to be curved? Just one curve is already larger than the entire Search Bar in High Sierra's art assets.

Managed to fix the search bar using CC's file ^.^ the little X button is off-center but I think it can be fixed.
Unfortunately the Back/Forward buttons aren't so easy, they decided to just pop out of existence >.>

Ooo, nice! Can you tell me which assets in which file to replace?

Also, I think the inactive window pattern needs to be darker (it's almost white). Can we edit things like that in Theme Engine, or do we need to export and do it in an external program?

    Jackpot! :D

I managed to decode the ArtFile.bin and SArtFile.bin files from Mavericks 10.9.5 (using ArtFileTool and SArtFileTool, respectively), and I now have full access to all the widgets contained therein.

I can share whatever is needed to make this theme 100% perfect!

Do you have anymore Xrevert stuff, CC? Namely the assets.car. Its a pain in the butt to port stuff from OS X to FlatOS™ but your Xrevert files seem to have already been modified to work with the flat UI.
    --- Post Merged, Jan 29, 2018 ---
If anybody needs OS X icons here's a complete set of all the ones you'll need when using the LiteIcon application. I also included some vintage icons for stuff like Steam, Google Earth, Photoshop, Screenflow etc...

As a matter of fact, I do!

I have attached the complete set of .car files. It includes specific files for Yosemite, Sierra, High Sierra, and I presume El Capitan, plus .car files for various stock apps.

There are things, such as window backgrounds, buttons and toolbars that could be done a bit better, so maybe those could be taken from the OS X assets I posted and used to improve the XRevert theme?
