Just curious a month after release and use, how are people liking these compared to the big brother 2.4 model? Good bad, ugly.... I know speakers are not up to snuff... thinking this weekend there maybe some sales?

I've had mine for 2 weeks and so far it meets all my needs/expectations.

I have read here that some people have had issues with the battery and screen. I luckily wasn't affected by these, fingers crossed it remains this way.

I've seen threads here about people having their MBP shut down randomly when using the battery and others seeing artifacts on the screen.

Battery thread : https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macbook-pro-2019-entry-level-battery-issues.2192339/
Screen thread : https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/mb-pro-13-2019-display-artifacts.2194399/

Since I only read about these issues here I still decided to go with the 1.4. I am thrilled with this machine.

Very happy. Only thing that's a bother is that it runs a little warm at times, but I've had this issue with every macbook i've had so par for the course. Smooth and snappy while running a VM and having tons of tabs open in chrome and FF and watching 4k video. Can't ask for more from the entry level pro -- well other than not having to pay an extra $200 for 256GB of storage. Hopefully 8/256 becomes the standard starting point on the mba and 16/256 for the pro in 2020 (hey, a boy can dream).

Regardless, you could easily have it serviced by Apple should that be the case. A minor inconvinience.

I'm using mine 1 month. Had only one issue with a sleep mode but i find how to fix it. I had this lines on the screen like in *screen thread* but now they disappeared. All issues is software, not hardware.
What can I say? I think that for my needs my old MBP13 2013 works well for 6 years without any issues and I change it because I want something new (one laptop 6 years 15 hours per day- it's boring).
I lllooooovveee this butterfly keyboard! And TB is nice.

Nope returned it.

Runs super hot! Throttles a bit for my workload. Needed more ram as well. Lagging here and there too.

Love the 2.8 i7 16gb

I just replaced my Macbook pro 13 (late 2013, 2.4 model, 8 GB, 256 SSD) with 2019 1.4 Macbook Pro 13 (8 GB, 256 SSD). It is a huge improvement, it feels like 10 times faster compared to the old one. Everything opens instantly, runs cold, after 24 h off of chargiing and full day of usage, battery is still at 22%, while old one died after 3 h. No issues at all. Even keyboard is superior to the old model - if is it related to the improved keyboard material in that model i dont know, but it just feels great.

The only minus I find is that charging connector is less convinient (hard to remove) compared to the old magsafe.

Basically I like the form factor, display colors (but not banding), speed, and partly keyboard (how it feels to type).

What I don't like is that battery is more or less questionable. It gets weak under load so that it drops full charge capacity and charge capacity under maximum CPU load but goes back up when lighter load again. It also accumulate charge cycles much faster than actual battery battery use (it should be 1 cycle per 100% total battery use, in my unit is vary between about 50!! to 90%!!). Also I don't like that trackpad is placed a bit unevenly. Also keyboard has stuck few times during few weeks but I have managed to make it work again by hitting key several times and using compressed air. I had no keyboard issues with my Air 2018.
Also keyboard is stiffer and clicky (noisy) compared to Air 2018. Speakers a also much worse in Pro than Air 2018.
I'd say more aggressive cooling algorithm would be nice, since machine gets pretty warm under load and fan rarely runs, but it is quiet on the other hand, it is just not that nice feeling when you use it on your lap.
