My Logitech G604 mouse has 6 buttons on the side and the Logitech Options only supports mapping them to specific things, not generic mouse buttons (like "Mouse Button 5-11," I forget the exact numbers). I've found only SteerMouse is able to do that, and I can map the generic buttons I assign on the app inside BetterTouchTool to do various things in various apps. But I can't justify spending $20, 1/3rd of the cost of my mouse, on a mouse app for functionality that should've already been on my mouse.
I spent some time looking through various mouse apps like LinearMouse, Mac Mouse Fix, and Smooze but none of them can be used to customize the G604's buttons. Do you know of any free apps I could use?

Hi

Have POP mouse and keyboard (but use them with my secondary system) and some logitech mouse that almost teh same as yours (on parents side, can't recall the name of it)
As far as I can remember, there could be a hustle because could be a Logitech Options and Logitech Options +, both separate apps, and that mouse isn't visible correctly in Logitech Options, as well as POP, but they are ok in Logitech Options + .
If no luck, and there's no way to pay, then maybe you could look for a Parrot and bottle of a decent rum

You're not wrong that Logitech should have included this functionality (or, even better, worked out a licensing deal with SteerMouse), but you shouldn't hold that against the SteerMouse developer. They built a terrific product and their work deserves to be supported.

Another way to look at this might be, you spent $60 on a mouse that probably should have cost $80 to be fully functional.

@Eric_WVGG I know but I do think $20 is a lot to charge for software like this, for that money you could get apps for other things that do a lot more in those areas.
