Argentine Congress Considers Same-Sex Marriage

    Well, I'd hate to use the word "dominos" but it certainly seems to fit.

    Even if Argentina doesn't go all the way right now, they have made far more progress as a nation than the United States has in terms of LGTB equality by simply engaging in a debate over it.

    According to Wikipedia it doesn't look as if the Argentinians are much further ahead of the US.

    Not in outright legislation perhaps, but the fact that they are having this debate at the national level is impressive.

    As it stands in the US, the Democrats won't touch the issue so long as they can help it (they will at the state level if the state is sufficiently "blue" enough), and the Republicans are going to go down trying to defeat any and every attempt at same-sex marriage legalization.
