A tragic event and my thoughts go out to the victim's family.

But, damn you, now the only comment that keeps echoing in my head is

"I'm only surprised because Democrat season doesn't start until October!"

further paving my road to hell...

No details, so fun speculation has me wondering just who was messing with whose wife or galfriend.

Arkansas? The shooter probably wouldn't have gone in, had there been a sign, "No shoes, no shirt, no service."

    My bad...

Can see how that would work, but if they went further and put up a "No redneck" sign, you'd probably hear crickets in the building.

From a buddy in Little Rock, who also commented that Gwatney was a well-respected good guy:

    "Investigation is ongoing.
LEO agencies (plural) are not releasing a lot at this time.

50-ish white male entered and asked to speak to Gwatney.
Gwatney was busy and the perp was told so.
Perp went in anyway, and fired 3 shots from a revolver.

No heated words, tone or anything. Just conversation and shots fired.

Perp left (missing part of investigation here) and next was in the Baptist Convention, went up stairs, and when some one went to see what the perp was up to, perp pointed gun ( no shots) and left.

Next we get Arch Street ( old highway to Sheridan) where a "interesting chase, and perp died at the scene".
We don't know what Agency fired shots.

    11:50 am - start.
3:59 - Gwatney died at Baptist Hosptial.

Perp dead and no time given.

    At this time, no motive."

I know I'm a downer, but should we really be joking about this. Maybe it's because I recently lost someone. Too soon fellas, IMO.

Well, this morning they're saying the guy was babbling something about losing a job, whatever.

Sorry, nothing that looks like a political motivation here. That may change as the investigation goes on, but at the moment it looks like the killer was "just" some kind of nut.

PS: sorry to hear that, solvs.
