Looking at getting a new router modem and thought of the Asus dsl ac68u. Now we have multiple devices in the house streaming HD content so this would be a good option. Only problem is that my internet speed isn't that great. It's 6.5 to 7 megabits per second. Now of course I know this router handles speeds way way greater then that but would it be a good option to use so that Internet speed doesn't slow down when multiple devices are being used? Also will it maximise Internet speed?

Unfortunately, with DSL, the modem won't make much of, if any, difference. The thing that affects your speed the most is the distance between the ISP and your house. If you are in the U.S., most DSL services top out at around 7 megabits. I believe Verizon can reach 15 in some parts of the county though.
