Hi,

I purchased 2 iPhone X’s using my at&t family plan through Apple.com. I’m keeping one for myself and the other would be a gift for a friend who is on Cricket. Am I able to swap the sim or is it going to make me activate it with the number I ordered it on first?

Thanks

Ordering with AT&T Next usually means that the SIM is locked to AT&T, so no, you likely will not be able to swap to any other provider. For this reason, I switched to the IUP so I can keep with AT&T at home and have a completely unlocked phone for traveling abroad.

I purchased the phones using my at&t phone numbers at full cost on Apple.com, avoiding doing next altogether.
