LTE is finally here in Jefferson City, Missouri and surrounding areas. According to someone I spoke to at At&t it was rolled out 3 days ago. Very exciting. Currently speeds aren't showing "typical At&t speeds" but I think once they have some time to work out the bugs it will run better. Currently I'm averaging about 12 megs, but the highest I've gotten to is 23 megs. Upload is usually around 3 megs. But I've gotten to just under 7 meg upload. Feel free to post what you are getting.

    ----Update----
    Confirmed surrounding areas with LTE

    Jefferson City
    Holts Summit
    New Bloomfield

Fulton does not have LTE, it cuts off in New Bloomfield.

I had no idea. Thanks for posting this. I think they need to work out the kinks. 4 Mbps on LTE. 8 on 4G.

What part of Jeff are you in? Also as an update depending where I am in my house which isn't in Jeff it's in HS. I'm getting 13 down 2.5 up consistently in my room, but if I walk to my moms room, (10 feet) I get 24 meg down and 4 meg up consistently. All I know is I'm so happy it's 3 - 5 times faster than our home Internet. And upload is over 10 times faster.

    ----------

Yeah I had the same issue. I would get like 3 meg at like Applebee's on LTE, but on 4g it would be a faster connection. Also it was a mor consistent connection too, my LTE one would go then slow down. I also have noticed that my LTE will just kick back to 4G and won't switch back unless I turn it off then back on.

The 8.36 is 4g. I'm surprised they turned it on when it's this bad.

Wow. Off peak time at 4am in Missouri? With LTE u should see min 10-12 mpbs download.

Even with regular HSPA in orlando I get 4-6 mpbs. And HSPA plus I can get as high as 10-12 mpbs in orlando.

Lte I get usually 10/20 mpbs. Sometimes 29-30 mpbs.

Also the signal strength is worse. Where I get 5 bars on HSPA+, I'm only getting 3 on LTE.

That means that the tower farther away from you has LTE up whereas the one closer has an HSPA antenna. The initial rollout is like this. Just wait a few weeks or so. They'll optimize and fill gaps in.

That's great!! Is Columbia, MO in the surrounding areas of LTE?

I was actually wondering the same thing myself. I haven't been that way yet, and currently have any trips any planned :(. Hopefully someone in Columbia can let us know. I might just call the Columbia At&t store and see if they say they have LTE. If Columbia doesn't have it yet, I would think it would be rolled out shortly, since At&t always seems to do a huge area once. I'll report back if I find out any info.

They finally fixed it over here on the west side. I'm getting full service and 18-20 down and 6 up.

To answer my own question, it appears AT&T is setting up/getting ready for LTE in Columbia, MO. Literally just outside MU campus and all the way to Boonville, MO via I-70 there is LTE!

Speed tests: 7.87 down, 1.41 up...they obviously need to optimize it some!

Just got it in Southern Maine as well. Getting anywhere from 28Mbps - 60Mbps Down, and about 8 - 15 Up. Still waiting on Southern, NH [Portsmouth, NH].

    Just saw this.

Where in Southern Maine are you? Portland has had its LTE up since Thanksgiving.

Most of the turnpike from Kittery to Scarborough has LTE up, except for some spots (Saco) and past Kennebunk. Portsmouth's LTE is in testing. Should be up within a few weeks. I mapped some spots of the LTE on sensorly a few weeks ago.

I'm on the Dover, NH line [Berwicks]. Dover has it in spots, but not consistently. This is AT&T by the way.

Is it still spotty? The coverage map on their website was just updated to cover NH.

It's great in the South Berwick - Kittery area. No drops, and about 3 - 5 bars consistently. York and York beach area are good too.

Dover is all over the place, and not consistent at all. Portsmouth is the same, but I'm told that both areas are still being "tested". I was in the White Mountains around the end of June, beginning of July and I did have some spotty LTE, but I didn't even have great cell coverage, so I'm sure it was the area in general...

Where we live in Holts Summit I can get generally 6 -10 mbps down in my house, and 3-6 mbps upload. The fastest I've seen in Holts Summit or Jefferson City was 25 mbps down and 7 mbps up. Overall between JC and Columbia I generally see about 12 mbps. I think At&t could bump the speed up some since it seems like everyone has LTE access. I've checked verizon and they usually range between 20 - 30 mbps down, but usually only get 3 mpbs upload.

Interesting. Thanks for the update. I'm never in that area to check myself. Mostly Portsmouth and then Portland, ME. I go to the outlets in Kittery every so often and LTE has been up there for a few months now.

I'm surprised you got LTE near the White Mountains. It was all EDGE until very recently, when they upgraded it all to HSPA.

Dover doesn't have LTE up yet according to their map. Looks like it is testing. Even Kittery doesn't have it officially.

I'm just glad they're being super aggressive with the LTE buildout in the area. HSPA wasn't the greatest in that area.
