As we all know, nVidia is finally launching its new GPUs in late March and most of us probably waited for ATI's reaction and now we've got it!

The answer is: New Radeon HD 5970 with two Cypress-graphics chips

ASUS is one of the first manufacturers to bring its own Asus ROG ARES -model of 5970. Both chips run at 850MHz and has a total of 3200 stream processors! That beast is coming with 4GB of GDDR5 memory running at 1200MHz!

As you can see in the picture above, it's 28% faster than normal 5970!

It will be limited edition and will be shown in Hannover, Germany at Cebit in early March. Price will probably be between 500€ and 1000€.

    Here is 3D-modeling of it:

ATI has really turned it on in the past two years. If only AMD could get it's act together and make Intel innovate again... even though their Neo platform is pretty decent.

The 5970 was announced in November of last year; available in January, and even pretty well confirmed as early as September.

Yes, this new Asus is the new king of all 5970s, but the base board has been out for awhile now.

Yea but this has TWO graphics chips while all the others have one. So basically, isn't this 5970X2? I know Hemlock isn't new but this is faster than normal 5970

No, they got rid of the "X2" naming. The 5970 is basically just a 5870X2. Sort of like what nVidia did moving to "295" meaning the dual-GPU version of the 275.

This specific Asus card is just a 5970 with more RAM than standard, and overclocked by Asus.
