Despite the charges of corruption that involve multiple different nations, one has to wonder if the volume of hatred exists eight years after her exile to warrant this kind of attack. Have extremists become increasingly bold in the past few years due to the continued failure of outside forces to quell their violence? Have regional politics in Pakistan given extremists greater ground from which to act upon? How does this event factor in to the success, failure or opposition to the war on terror?
