I had forgotten the passcode on my iPod Touch and read somewhere that if I restored it, the passcode would be erased. I attempted this by pressing the two buttons and it told me to plug my iPod in, which I did. I then was told in iTunes to click 'Restore', which initiated the process. At the very end of the restoration process, I got error 6. I attempted restore again, but not my iPod has a black screen and won't do anything. When I plug it in it is no longer recognized by the computer or iTunes. It says that the 'USB device has malfunctioned'. I've restarted, uninstalled iTunes, and have tried every port on my computer.

I can't even turn the iPod on. Help!
