Greetings,

I remember the time it was simple to hook up your home theater but stopping by here seems all kinds of issues make this harder to understand... I'm also confused about this whole HDR thing, UHD etc.

I recently upgraded my TV to a 4K TV and receiver (4K) - in subject line - to do the switching for me. When I received the ATV 4K on Friday I immediately tried to set it up but ran into all kinds of issues like Check Cable, and 4:2:2 couldn't be checked etc. (All cables are new and fast)

From the TV side, I enabled this UHD HDMI control via HDMI 1 which receives all outputs from the receiver to the TV but I still can't choose 4K HDR at 60Hz. It just allows for 4K SDR.

Don't get me wrong, it still looks good and I'm playing all kinds of content from Netflix etc in Ultra 4K, however, am I missing something or are we just waiting for an update to make it all just work? :)

Note: For what its worth, I really don't like the look of HDR+ on the TV. The motion looks way too smooth...

Cheers

I just did some research on that receiver, and I found some fine print that says you need a firmware update to support HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
Have you tried that yet?

I set the receiver up about a week ago... Did this update come out in the last few days? Will research... Thanks...

For whatever it is worth, the 1.18 update should make it all work... but it doesn't just yet...
