On average, how much space do applications take up? I know some applications are smaller than others, and a lot of them use cloud storage, but surely there are some apps that use local client storage.

I am basically trying to determine whether a 16GB or 32GB iPad 2 is the way to go. I won't be putting my entire music library on it, nor do I plan on having a ton of movies or TV shows, which I know would eat up a majority of local storage.

Thanks for any information.

As with apps on your computer, there is no "average"; some are a very few MB, others are over 1GB (the excellent "The Elements" is a whopping 1.7GB, as are GPS apps with self-contained maps; some games are also hogs). If you go to the iTunes store and search for apps that you think would be useful their sizes are noted on their information page.
