For those who are going to knock my video please let me know where i went wrong

You described it as awesome.

Awesome: amazing, inspiring awe or admiration or wonder...

Wow those first 10 seconds had me in suspense…..well almost. No offence there is nothing awesome about that video. Wobbly, poor quality, poor content.

Yes- there's no point to it. I don't get it at all. If you were trying to emulate some Apple ad, it was far too long. The hello world thing made no sense either. Something like this should take 30 seconds or less, but you have to make a better point as well.

Can I have that last minute and a half of my life back?

One life lesson that I'm still learning (my posts are evidence of that) is that everything you do isn't fascinating just because you did it.

1) Your hands were WAY too shaky

2) The glare on the iMac was completely obvious, and you could see you filming in it

3) The music wasn't that awesome

4) The Apple commercials have nice upbeat songs to them, not like that

5) The first 30 seconds before the iMac even came into the picture, I was thinking "What is this...a Rickroll?"

For those who are going to knock my video please let me know where i went wrong

the concept is unclear
the 'script' is perplexing
the first shot is just plain ugly
the soundtrack is overused and comes off as pretentious
the 'shooting' is wobbly
the desktop image is unfitting
the 'sign' is uninspired
the length is excessive

other than that it's ok.

It's cool that you're enthusiastic about your creation, but you need to work on the presentation. You've received some useful feedback. Now take that an shoot some better material. You need to think of a purpose; come up with a good idea. Mess around with the editing tools in iMovie. Maybe do quick shots and add some transitions. Play around with angles when you shoot. Add effects to the video. Add titles with iMovie, instead of on your iMac while you shoot. You might want to try a more upbeat song (you can also edit and fade the song in iMovie).

I'd like to see your next video... but only if you take some of the advise given to you in this thread.

Actually the whole thing was so campy I chuckled. But I have been told that I have very very very very low standards for which movies I liked.

Can you explain the concept though. Start on cabinet, shaky pull back to reveal images of Einstein and other notable minds from history, only to have "hello world" in what looks to be apple chancery font. I'm not totally sure I can follow your line of reasoning here. BTW you can see your reflection in the iMac monitor.

:)

i can't see the point of it and I'm stunned that you think it's great.

why don't you tell us what you think is awesome about this video and we can give better feedback?

How but constructive criticism and not just "FAIL" (suppresses giggle)

First off, you looked at the cabinet too long, secondly, George Washington? Thats an awful background. It was off center for a while, your hand was really shaky. Then you pressed a wrong button and got the "You cant do this, retard" noise. The video should also have ended when the music stopped, because making it say something lame like that really kind of pushed the seriousness out of it. (If there already was any)

I see the concept...

but if you want to be taken seriously you have to frame your shots and use a proper camera.

I mean seriously how much weed were you smoking to have hands that shaky, and write awesome about it at the same time.

Are you a re-TARD?

I got sea-sick from the shaky cam so had to turn it off.

Make a poll to decide what adjective to use to replace the word awesome in the thread title.
