Hey guys,

I was wondering if you could help me with a B&W PowerMac G3 that I own. For some strange reason at the moment it won't boot up. It switches on and I heard the "bong" but that is as far as it goes. There is no video on the screen but the machine is still running.

I've tried resetting the pram however i only hear one "bong" which makes me believe it hasn't been reset correctly. I'm not sure whether this is the battery is dead or the graphics card.

Any ideas?

I did install OS X on it a few weeks back and it had been working since then. But before I got hold of the machine it had been in a warehouse not being used for a while.

I've got a feeling it might be the battery but also that it might be the video card

The classic symptom of a dead battery is the video not coming on. The classic dead battery scenario is a machine that has been unplugged or in storage. The battery is a cheap first thing to try, don't worry about the video card until after that.

I've installed the battery but it still won't boot. Same symptons as before! Any idea's? I can still hear the bong when it boots but no video.
