Bad to keep iPod plugged into laptop for hours and hours on end?

    I don't do this everyday or anything but theres times where my ipod will be connected to my laptop for 12+ hours and i play the music off of the ipod through the audio system connected to my laptop. If I do this often will it kill the hell out of my battery on my new ipod classic? I dont keep the songs I loaded onto my ipod in the iTunes library because they are on an external HD i only plug in once in a while....

    Just make sure you cycle the battery on the iPod.

    Killing the battery is done when you DON'T charge it for a long periods of time. And correct me if I am wrong, but don't the iPods have a way of not over-charging like the MacBook's? I.E.: The battery will never stay @ 100% but will be around 99%.

    Seems like this is a perfectly fine thing to do if you don't keep it plugged in for days.

    The battery in your iPod (and in your laptop, for that matter) will eventually go out. The way I see it is that you use it or lose it. There's nothing wrong with just leaving it plugged in, but if anything it will help accelerate it's death.
