I guess black lives don't matter when the perpetrators are themselves.

One person dies from the hands of 6 cops and everyone is up in arms. Dozens of people die from a continued culture of violence and no one blinks an eye.

You honestly don't see the difference here?

Cops are supposed to serve and protect it's not expected that they're going to kill somebody while transporting them to jail.

Gang members on the other hand…

People are not rioting because ONE person died, plenty of people have died at the hands of those who are supposed to be there to protect & serve under very questionable circumstances

    Make you a deal.

When an unarmed Asian, let alone unarmed Asian-American dies at the hand of LEOs, we'll riot for you.

All just to show you that we're Equal Opportunity rioters.

The police way overstepped their bounds and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law...but that doesn't give a single person the excuse to act like a thug. Rioting, destruction, murder, theft...just makes them look bad. It's all senseless and sad all around. Why not peacefully protest and push it as far as you can but peacefully. Also i'm absolutely sick of the race thing. It's 2015 and people are treating people based on their color or whatever differently. That goes for all races! Just don't understand why everybody isn't 100 percent equal and peaceful toward each other. I could give a hoot about race, sexual orientation, gender, you're good to me i'm good to you. Life is too short for that kind of violence. Violence is only acceptable if you're physically threatened.

I don't think you'll find anyone in disagreement with you...

.. except the OP. Otherwise, this thread wouldn't exist.

The gang members who were heralded in their solidarity during the riots?

I don't think gang members where the object of the heralding were they?

    Protesters were.

43 homocides? In a month? WTF. I just checked out my nearest city - Vancouver, Canada- which is pretty near the same size at 602k vs 622k. Vancouver had 9 homicides for the entire year of 2014, a 50% increase from the previous year when there were 6 homicides - for the entire year. And Baltimore is clocking in at 43 for the month. What is going on down there?

Coincidently I met an Asian American mechanical engineer this weekend from Baltimore that was here on business. Was saying how much nicer Salt Lake is and he would probably relocate here. Riots and crime were mentioned as motivating factors.

A few thousand like minded people can put a big dent in a tax base, which means invariably black Americans will see hits to public services

What you're seeing is a continuing effect of that having already happened (see this).

The answer lies in the difference between the racial demographics of the two cities.

I have no idea what your two sentences are trying to say, but previously you asked if the gangs were heralded during the protests (for uniting, etc). These are but a few links showing the evidence.

It was more of a rhetorical question, the point was it was protestors being heralded, not the gangs..... This idea that the riots have done nothing more than glorify gang life is a crock of bull.

I think it's slightly more complicated than that. [/sarcasm] While the ethnic make up of the two cities is, of course, different the similarity is that both cities have a white population that make up less than half the population. Vancouver, as the busiest port on the coast, is a major gateway for drugs and smuggling and consequently has an active and deeply entrenched criminal gang scene. Vancouver is also home to what is considered Canada's poorest neighbourhood.

I think it much more likely to do with differing public policy agendas by the city, state/provincial, and federal governments. If I really wanted to be an a** I might suggest that a government that leans towards liberalism and maybe even a bit of socialism may not be so bad after all.

It's pretty clear by now that the OP only sees black and white, and he despises the former.
