Hi,

I have a huge project that I'm working on in Photoshop, and I accidentally added numerical signs (#) before the .jpg extension.

Is there a free way to remove the numerical signs, there are about 500 images with different names.

Sample: "wand_#1234.jpg" needs to be changed to "wand_1234.jpg", they're all in sequential order.

You can use Automator. Set up the action list and replace, for example, "wand_#" with "wand_".

EDIT: If you've never used Automator, do this:

Open Automator (Applications-->Automator)
In the search window (upper left corner), type "rename"
Drag "rename finder items" into the righthand box.
Drag the folder (directly from the finder) with the items into the box above the two actions created by the "rename" action.
Choose your destination folder (can be the same and you can choose to overwrite originals, but I suggest a second destination in case anything goes wrong).
Set what you'd like renamed and how in the bottom action.
Click run.

That should be all you need to do!

Rad :) Thanks.

I actually just found a trial of some other program, and I belted it out in 2 minutes....

Point click, enter, delete enter point...hahaha

Anyhow, many thanks :)

This site kicks ass!
