Hey there,
Any of you guys noticed your battery health dropping after installing the betas? I had 100% on both 13 Pro Max and Watch 7, and after installing the new OSes, I'm at 99%. The same thing happened last year, but I thought it must be a coincidence. My gf has the 13 Pro, bought at the same time as mine, used more than mine, and it's still on 100% on ios 15.4.

It didn‘t drop after installing the beta, it forced battery health calibration.

Batteries are organic material that degrade with use and heat. It‘s perfectly normal and expected that your battery health is no longer „at 100%“. It‘s literally impossible for your battery to stay at 100% capacity.

I’ve noticed my battery health has massively decreased. I have a just over 2 year old iPhone 11. Pre 16 beta I was around 95-99% Heath. It’s now 79% and I have a warning for severe battery health degradation. Going to go to the store and see what can be done but I imagine as I’m a few months out of warranty I’ll be stuck 🥲

If you want to continue using your phone for some more years (totally fine because an ip11 is nice) then get the battery replaced.
Under 80% capacity after 2 years seems to relatively normal depending on the usage.

Yep now my battery is at 98%, while my girlfriend's still at 100% capacity on ios 15.6, lol. And she uses her phone 10x more than me. I wonder how much it'll drop for her, if she upgrades.

Most likely it will.
With such a big update the measurement process kicks in again.
Furthermore even this measurement is noch 100% accurate, every battery is slightly different, usage and charging behaviour can vary.

Yep, mine dropped from 99 to 97 immediately after IOS 16 and watch 9 were installed.

in my case there have been no variations: iphone 13 pro continues with 100% health, and series 7 is at 99%.

My iPhone 13 bought on day one, charged once per day was at 99% before I jumped on the beta bandwagon for iOS 16. It dropped to 97% when I went on beta 3 or so, it’s now at 94% since beta 5 :(

Batteries do degrade over time, but surprised how much it dropped once I got onto iOS 16. I hope it recalibrates over the next few weeks and goes up. Keep in mind, we’ve been updating weekly so calibration may be off :)

1% down - from 80% to 79% right after updating to ios16. My battery health now shows the "service" indicator.

FYI, I just updated my 9 month old pro max 13 to ios16 and my battery health was 99% before and 99% after = No change.
