It doesn't give the time though. Like the mac says. I think there is an app that tells you time...
You have to have a 3G S to see the percentage remaining. Or you can enable it via jailbreaking.

I can not find such a thing. Sounds good though.
Once your ipod is jailbroken, download SBSettings. Open the app, go to "More", "Extras and Options", then turn on numeric battery.
i remember seeing an app in the app store. one of my youtube subscriptions did a review on it but i cant remember the name. it will tell you how much more time you can listen to music, watch video, use safari, and if you have an iPhone it will tell you how much talk time you have left. the app isnt free. it looks like it'd be really handy
