Belkin Airtag keychain blocks NFC

Been playing around with the Airtags this weekend, particularly with scanning the NFC tag on other devices to reveal the ‘lost mode’ notification.
I’ve found that the Belkin Airtag keychain holder blocks the nfc significantly and it is very very hard to scan. Not got any official apple keychains but I suspect they wouldn’t block this. Obviously the naked Airtag scans just fine.

Anyone else have this experience?

Nope. When I tap the top of the iPhone on my AirTag nfc notification pops up.

Forgot to say, my phone is in a MagSafe case. Perhaps my airtag is faulty.

NFC is hardly blocked by plastic. The magsafe magnets can easily do.

(I still hope Apple get rid of the useless magsafe magnets at some point and uses the space for more battery life)

I think you guys are tapping the wrong place on the phone. Bring the tag near the top back of the phone. Directly behind the notch.

I have just 6 Belkin/tags and NFC works on all of them.
