Where do you think the best place to pick up an apple watch series 4 will be?

I want to avoid the apple store since where I live we only have one and it'll be way overcrowded.

BestBuy? ATT Store? Other?

Best Buy or a mobile carrier. Just be wary of mobile carries as they will likely lock you into a mobile contract (for LTE models) to purchase one.

It also seems that there is some supply constraints if you are looking for a stainless steel. So if that is your model of choice, you might be out of luck.

I would call the night before and see if they can tell you how many the got and what’s the stock like. You might have to wait overnight or very early for the chance.

I have don’t the overnight thing before but I am getting to old for that crap anymore lol

Go to the nearest Apple store and line up very early. If you're the first person in line you'll get one almost guaranteed. You may have to get there at Midnight to be the first person in line though. I thought I was going to have to do that this year because my alarm didn't go off and I didn't order until 3 hours after the store opened back up.

Looks like AW is overshadowing the iPhones right now, which means the demand will be really high. You might be able to find AW available in stores, but would be limited to the higher end models.

I would say it is the other way around. There may be very few to no higher end models available. Most people who ordered the SS models ended up with 9/28+ delivery dates.

I think it was just like the Series 0 watches, I got mine on opening day, but it was almost impossible to find any SS models in stores (at least around here in the NY area where there are TONS of apple stores).

yea I do agree the higher demand was for the SS models, but could be wrong. 3-5 min after preorders and the SS already slipped a week. the other models were still going for release day. but still, I agree I think this time the new watch is more demand that the iphone is.

I think it's going to be a really tough go to get a watch, particularly a stainless one, on Friday, unless you get in line in the middle of the night.

I've got my preorder in but it doesn't ship till Oct 2-7. I've decided I'm just going to find a little patience and wait till it arrives.

Anyone know if you can reserve a watch for pickup on Friday? I’m thinking about picking one up but I don’t think I can make it to an Apple Store until 4-5 PM.

Not yet. The online store no longer lets you see other stores in your area, it has just said it is unavailable. Leading to some speculation about supply issues and availability going into the weekend.

Does Apple normally reopen the pickup feature on launch day? If I remember correctly, you could not reserve for pickup an iPhone on launch day. Always had to wait until the Saturday after.

Not sure exactly, honestly. With a 9.28 - 10.2 delivery date for my S4, I am still hopeful that there will be a in-store option. Seen others mention that they could reopen the in-store pickup on Thursday PM or early Friday (same time as pre-order?). So keep an eye out there.
