What do you all think the best Mac adventure game was? They seem to be a dying breed.
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
Three different paths, great comedy in places, multiple plot twists, classic Indiana Jones situations, and oh yeah, the way you kick the @ss of every fascist you met made it the best Mac adventure game in my book.
I always loved MDK (does anyone remember when it was bundled with the original iMacs?). While it's more of an action/adventure game (rather than pure action) I'm sure it qualifies.
Monkey Island 1 and 2
These are my all time fav ! Indy 4 isn't bad though.
I was playing Monkey Island 4 the other day.
In my opinion the best sci-fi/adventure games on the mac platform are the Journeyman Project Series.
I played a demo of that when it came with Riven. I didn't particularly like the FPS viewpoint of the later installments of the series, but the storyline was very engrossing.
The storyline was definitly the best part of the games. Legacy was great if you had played the first two.
I used to play a lot of quest for glory V. It was a fun game. Now all I play is StarCraft. I hope to get WCIII soon.
Get WC3. It's worth every cent.
im a fan of Myst series so Riven and Exile are my favorites and i can hardly wait for MystOnline -Mudpie- in 2003 ( u can see some images and artwork at www.mystonline.com )
I used to love to play those point-and-click adventures put out by Mindscape all those years back on my Mac 512KE:
Deja Vu II - Lost in Las Vegas
Great interface, and brilliant graphics for their time.
I also remember liking those old text adventures from Infocom - Planetfall was one of my faves. I'd try and beat the clock to see if I could complete it in an hour, just to improve my typing skills...
All too easy.
These games just occurred to me:
Cyan really had something good going (and still do)...
MYST, MYST, MYST, MYST, MYST, Need I say more?
The best adventure game ever is most certainly Myst. This game was the top selling game ever for years until a little doozy called the Sims popped outta no where.
