Best time to buy on friday

So if i wanted to pick up an iPhone 3g on friday and want to minimize my time waiting in line, what time should i go? did anybody from 1st gen iphone release have any experience with going x number of hours after the store opened?

I'm going to go in shortly after 9 I think. Hopefully by this time the early birds will have theirs and most people will have gone into work, so it shouldn't be too bad.

All being well I will be there at about 8.15am. I am working just around the corner from my local O2 shop until 8am so should be able to make it there in 15mins.

I was all ready for a 7.02 start .. then my local changed to 9AM.

I'll be at my store for 8.40am

Ahh well, a nice lie in is to be had.

i most certainly am - nice an early so i can pack for my holiday which i leave for friday evening

there's no way in hell I can get to my local o2 store then get to work for 9am so I'll be getting mine at 3:30ish (if there's any left in Brighton!)
