Hey guys/gals. While all the hype continues for the iPad 2, I'm going to be happy with an iPad 1. What do you think is the smartest way to get one? eBay, Craigslist, Apple Refurb?

How much should I expect to pay for a 16GB wifi?

Thanks!

My 1st choice would be Craigslist and purchase it locally. I'm thinking $275 for a 16GB with some extras thrown in as well. Good luck.

Apple refurb, IMO.
1year warranty , new battery..... Killer price, looks like new!
:D

With the warranty about to expire on the iPad 1, the refurbished Apple Store is your best option.

A reputable eBay seller. (i.e., one with a top rated seller badge) Sometimes they offer returns/limited warranties or you are able to buy one from Square Trade. I've sold things on Craigslist but buying makes me nervous because if something doesn't work out they're gone. Apple refurb is obviously the safest option but you'll pay a little more.

I think you're looking at around $300. Good luck!

They were selling brand new iPad first gens at the apple store I went to for my iPad 2. I'd get a refurb or a brand new from apple store unless someone was selling it for really cheap on craigslist.

Alright, nothing local on craigslist, so I ordered the Apple Refurb.

I'd be able to buy my mom's, but she probably won't have her iPad 2 for a month, and don't feel like waiting that long. Got express shipping for $12.

So, like-new iPad 1 will full warranty should show up by Monday at the latest, total was $383.
