So the 42mm is better for usage? I have small wrists is the 42mm still good to get?

I'd love if someone would comment on it, but that's what I've heard, like that the mm size doesn't really correspond the sizes that normal watches use, and that the larger one is only slightly larger, but easier to use, and the review I was reading was recommending it for everyone... but maybe not everyone agrees?

The 42 is definitely easier to read and interact with. However, I have VERY small wrists, so the 42 is to big for me. It's not a matter of looking too big, it's a matter of the watch being wider than the flattest part of my wrists. So look at the wrist size guide Apple has somewhere, and if your wrists are toward the smallest available sizes, get the 38. Otherwise, I'd go with the 42. But it's also personal preference. Some people simply feel that the smaller size looks better / are more their style.

Had a 38 SS since 4/15 ... Visibility is fine ... Does everything I want .... and does it well. I just ordered series2 38 SS black with black Milanese .... Have super small wrists so 42 is way too wide. I anguished over which to get on the 1st one but 38 is perfect ... Looks good, comfortable ... Have worn it everyday since 4/25/15! I don't really care for feel of sport bands, love the brown leather classic band ... The woven ones are colorful and fun but seem really stiff. I use a coordinated bumper just because I tend to slam into stuff but my watch face has zero scratches. So probably don't really need it. Just love the watch. Have a good time with yours.

I got the silver aluminum upon launch, b/c like you, I wasn't sure what to expect and bought it simply out of desire. I have the 38mm. I'm a 5'7" 130 lb female.

Although my husband's 42mm has slightly more screen real estate, it isn't enough to determine the size of watch for me. I'm of the mind-set that it depends on which fits your wrist better.

The screen on my aluminum watch has no scratches. The bezel has a tiny knick that only I have noticed.

Since owning the watch, I have determined that it is useful for me and my lifestyle. I have also concluded that I like the look of the stainless steel slightly more than the aluminum, so that is what I pre-ordered this morning. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the look of the aluminum, it just comes down to preference.

I have ordered the sport band for both watches now. I have found several quality third-party sport bands for variety, and Hubbs and I found third-party Milanese bands that we are quite smitten with at a fraction of the price. I haven't yet been able to find a third-party leather band that I like as much as Apple's options.

Thanks! That's all great info!

I am getting the larger watch with a smaller wrist. The 38mm just looks so small. The 42mm just seems like it will easier to read/use.

Definitely stainless steel regardless size. Sapphire glass and polishable SS will keep your SS AP look almost like new all the time with light care.
Just spend 5min polished my SS-AW with Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloths, ~$6 with 2 cloths included will last longer than my AW with proper storage.

Personally, I prefer wearing a almost new looking watch all the time than beat-up watch.

I got the black sport for the first gen to make sure I would actually use it unlike the pebble I wore for a month or less. After wearing it everyday since launch I wanted a nicer one so this time I got the black SS with link. I figure the link can be polished ever year or two and used on at least the next gen or two allowing me to buy just the cheapest SS black with sport band from now on.

Definitely bumping the stainless decision. Has more presence much more durable and its not just the metal Stainless comes with a harder glass on the face just FYI.

The screen on the Apple Watch Sport models is not as durable as the Sapphire screen on the SS models. I had a Sport for a month and scratched the screen on a wooden table. I exchanged it for a SS and after 10 months not a single scratch on the screen and I wear it every day.

Kind of stole this answer but i agree

They have changed it, these are the specifications:-

Second-generation OLED Retina display with Force Touch2× brighter (1000 nits)

Sapphire crystal (stainless steel and ceramic cases)

Ion-X glass (aluminum cases)

272 by 340 pixels (38mm)

312 by 390 pixels (42mm)

The series one also has a composite back where series 2 has a ceramic back.

The new AW 2 Sport model have the same screen as the old AW 1? I thought they changed it. :/

The display itself now can get 2x brighter. The glass on the face of the sport model is the same, ion-strengthened. The SS model from the old AW1 had sapphire glass on the face, and so do the new series 2 SS versions.

Hmmmm still leaning towards the black, aluminum with a woven band. Seems less conspicuous than silver.

If that is how you feel, then I would say absolutely go for it. As a person who likes a dark color scheme myself, I feel strongly about it. If you happen to like both, and and you're not just sympathizing with the fact that either can look good in certain situations, then go I'd say listen to opinions here - otherwise go for what you feel strongly about.
