Wow, this was the most they could get him on? One count of making false statements??

They're talking about the possibility of retrial, and I hope they do. That guy's more crooked than this.

Was the prosecution that inept or was the jury bought?

CBS 2 and the AP are reporting that the jury was split 11-1 in favor of conviction. It will be interesting to watch the retrial.

This is BS. This jerk should be in prison for a long time. It's disgusting. This guy is still jogging through the park by my place.

I hope you're talking about mounting that scope on a squirt gun...

Nod and say "yes, NSA eavesdropper, a squirt gun".

Guilty of "lying to federal agents", yet federal agents can lie to you with impunity. Double standard??

Lying to the cops should not be illegal(the feds are the cops in this instance), I am totally against this conviction. So what if he bartered for Obamas seat--sure it's not a great political move, but he is just the first to get caught, I wouldn't give up that seat for nothing either the rules basically say he has to appoint a replacement till the next election any appointment I'd make would be to my advantage I would sell the ****ing hell out of that vacancy.

Yep, and part of the reason why people have so little faith in politics.
