The best shot at forcing McCain to bring in someone with executive skills and fiscal intelligence for his VP slot has announced he won't run. I wish he'd waited until after the convention.

Good. We don't need the reincarnation of Rudy Giuliani in office.

Bloomberg is going to be on Obama's short list for VP. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he is selected as Barack's running mate. He offers the economic experience to assure Americans that Obama is a better choice than McCain (who has admitted he's pretty much clueless on economics).

    Disappoints? I'm certainly not disappointed.

    Bloomberg? Seriously?

Of course. He's yet another tax-breaks-for-big-business-and-developers type. You should see how well that's working here in Chicago. Everyone's property taxes are through the roof because of it and people are losing their homes at alarming rates. Yeah, great economic policy, that stuff.

I'd be willing to bet that Bloomberg isn't even on the long list. I'd look at both Hillary and Obama to be going for a white (possibly hispanic) southern male (maybe a female for Obama) as their VP. The Dems already typically win the northeast, they need inroads into the southern red states. Watch for a southern politician (preferably a governor, but someone with positive name recognition).

I hope Obama would pick Richardson. Or that Clinton would.
