Help!

I was attempting to backup on time machine. It got hung up on a flip video file, so I attempted to then stop the backup. The backup dialog box did not go away, and it would not let me shut down my computer. So I performed force-quit on my Finder to close the dialog box. The computer shut down promptly, but when I restart now I get a spinning wheel for a bit, then various shades of blue & grey screen forever.

I put in my startup disk and performed 'repair disk permissions' as well as 'repair disk' and the final verdict in the dialog is that everything is ok.

Any suggestions?

Again, thank you SO MUCH for any advice!

What Disk Utility tells you is completely useless in this situation.

Sounds like you have a bad hard drive.
