Hey folks.

Picked up a 15” MBP and restored from time machine backup.

Everything seems to be right as rain- except my Sony Bluetooth mouse disconnects every 15-20 min and it’s driving me nuts. Have to turn off/on to get it to get going again.

I have a apple external keyboard that has not exhibited this behavior so I have reset Bluetooth in the advanced menu, removed the device 3 times, restarted the computer, etc.

Wtf with this new 4k machine? Previous 2015 never had an issue naturally.

Any thoughts here? Setting up as new, is not an option really as it would be a pita.

Thanks

This may be similar to your issue, my Apple magic mouse 2 does this at work NOT at home!?
-In the office, I have a router, my laptop, iPhone, power plug, apple watch, and the mouse so check if it does this at a different place?

Weird. Nothing on my desk but a monitor and keyboard. I do have a powered stand up desk, but not sure what issue that would cause with a mouse connection. I will try in another room

Do you have any external devices attached via USB?
mbp'19 doesn't have any usb port, only type-c, but it's not really matters for those problem, bluetooth drop connections randomly, and after few seconds reconnected again

Thanks.

You can plug USB 3 devices into it using an adaptor. You’re not stuck using USB-C devices exclusively.

USB3 also jumps all over the 2.4GHz space if not properly shielded. 2.4GHz is also the space used by Bluetooth.

It should not be an issue, BT is very resilient to interference, but I would certainly try to rule it out.

Sounds like you’re not using any non USB-C interface devices though? No docks, dongles, adaptors?

Thank you for answers!

Yes, some times i charge something via plugin. I will check this today and write in this thread about the result.

USB-C is never an issue I don’t think. Only USB-A. But if you’re at the stage of grasping for straws and pulling out hair it’s worth a shot. Good luck.

Ok, i'm not lucky, it is happen without any adapters/chargers or something else, only with connected power charger. I can’t listen to music properly without reconnecting, sad :/

Only other suggestions I have:

* NVRAM, SMC reset
* Ensure you’re running the latest build of Mojave (10.14.6)
* Backup, system wipe, and try to reproduce the issues before restoring your backup (ie. clean system)

I just had my 2019 machine replaced and will be testing again as I recently bought a surface mouse that is working. The Sony mouse that was disconnecting on the other machine never was an issue on my 2015 MBP. I do use 1 usbc hub for a hdmi connection to a monitor and to charge my iPad. Will report back on new machine, I did set up as new this week as much as I hate that work effort.

I have this problem since purchase, just did not attention to it, and now it has become annoying. if there is no such problem on the new laptop, then I think that it will not appear

I work at a place that uses all macbooks. Seems the latest ones all have this problem. No word from apple on what a fix might be.

I solved this about a month ago. I have my own dual-mode router in the office so I just turned off the 2.4GHZ band and my issue is gone!

- You may need to change the channel but I just have no use for the 2.4GHZ band
-I have the same setup at home but the router is a different model “both are Huawei” I never had this issue
