how much would I partition my iMac to run say, call of duty 4, i'm new to all this mac stuff. And with it partitioned and running on windows would it work much the same on a regular PC?

It will be just like any other PC when it's running Windows.

Check CoD's HD space requirements, add that to space requirements for WinXP or Vista, and add some extra for any future games.

If you want to avoid rebooting (and having 2 partitions), CoD 4 is coming to Mac in future.

Assuming your iMac is fairly new and has at least 2gb of memory you'll probably find in all honesty that it runs Windows better than a real PC, and thus games.
