ok a while ago i had made a bootcamp partition.
i later booted into it with linux running and installed it.
then it created a separate place for the linux os.
    i erased the bootcamp partition
thinking i could also erase the linux part.

this is what it looks like now

and now it will not let me use

    and erase

when you installed linux, it repartitioned the "bootcamp" partition into two partitions: one for swap, and one for everything else. when you deleted the bootcamp partition, linux was removed, but the swap partition wasn't.

just remove the linux swap partition and resize your os x partition.

tried it and it says it deletes the partition but it just keeps coming back and when i try and resize the partition of the main drive to get the space of the bootcamp drive it will not allow me.

hey if i do a erase and install and then restore from bootcamp do you think that will still be there and all my programs too?

if you're having trouble modifying partitions, try booting up from your restore cd (that came with the computer). try to delete and resize your partitions from disk utility on the cd.

    nothing happened
i am able to repair permission though to the main partition

linux is still listed on their and i cannot get the main drive to take up the extra space of ten gigabytes

    this is really annoying

i am thinking of doing an erase and install but am dreading installing iWork, office, xcode, fusion (fusion machines, linux, xp , vista ) photoshop, transmission, firefox (with all my add ons), etc

i mean i have all the disk images of all the programs,
but is there anyway to save the settings
and such so i do not have to go through all the setting of everything
