Well, the oil has stopped. That didn't take too long, huh?

This isn't over yet. The cap could blow at any time and we're still weeks away from the relief well.

It's never good enough for some people apparently....

The oil has stopped, work on the relief well is moving at full speed, it's as good of a situation as is possible now.

About bloody time too. It was beginning to look like a permanent feature.

Well done to all the engineers and operators who have worked on getting this new cap built and in place.

How do you jump to that conclusion? I merely pointed out the reality of the situation in that, it's not over yet.

As for finally capping the well, I couldn't be happier.

My ex-wife used to put a tampon in and say everything was better, but she was still a massive bit**. It wasn't until the flow finally stopped that she was worth spending any time around, and even then, she was still oily and dirty, and eventually, I decided a different ocean was better for vacation time.

Actually I just saw on the news a few days ago that BP denied any more money to Florida for advertising clean beaches. Typing this from Ft. Myers, Fl. Now if they could get rid of seaweed...

Hopefully this happens soon then. Here in NC, I'd wager roughly 30-40 percent of all the commercials shown between 6pm- 7pm, the local ABC station and then ABC World News Tonight, are for the Gulf Coast states beaches, primarily Mississippi and Florida.

Wonder when BP will have the nerve to start charging for their oil that washes ashore.

The well is plugged but the Eco system is pretty damaged and BP's image is very tarnished also. I hope the litigation bankrupts BP they deserve this after the way they handled this mess.

You don't want them to go bankrupt... that lets them off the hook to PAY for all the cleanup and to help local businesses. This could last years, we need BP's purse to pay for everything.

Well i mean afterwards because it doesn't seem like BP is remorseful. And maybe i'm being too naive since it's a big company and remorse doesn't really fall in with their bottom line.

Seriously? They're the 4th biggest company in the world and employ over 80,000 people, lots of them in the US.
