Just took this phone out of the box to activate it.. When I took off the rear plastic I saw the following..

A defect in the glass panel near the connector and near the right pentalobe screw.

The right pentalobe screw is protruding and looks like it may be stripped.

    Great quality control Apple!

    Serial # starts w/ C39G

I returned an iPhone 4S last week using the express replacement service in Ireland. I called on Monday at 3pm on Tuesday at 12pm the new iPhone was in my hands.

It arrived from the UK via Germany.

apple can't check every single one and be perfect. They can try to, but there will always be a sloppy worker messing something up.

Apple's support is pretty good, they will likely exchange it.

That should be classified as a warranty issue. In which case it should be replaced on the spot. Any phones replaced under warranty are always switched out on the spot while you're there.
