Broken cable of Magsafe 85W power adapter (including picture)

Hi,

I was wondering if I can fix this problem (because it's in an early stage of wear & tear?)

Is it easy to fix? Just some tape around it?
Or is it a 'little'! bit more difficult?

hopefully it's easy to fix...

Apple will probably replace it.

Bring it to the apple store or call them. If the computer is still under warranty Apple will replace it. I have had them replace one on my macbook and macbook pro. If they wont replace it i bet you can just push the cable back into the boot and super glue it back together.

No. Cyanoacrylate glues have a flash point of 81C (burns/catches fire).

Mine did the same exact thing.

I booked an appointment and Apple replaced with no problem.

Whether they replace it or now, I don't think I would be using a power brick with the wiring exposed. Seems like you're asking for a fire.

Power adapters are covered under the AppleCare (if there is one) on the system. Whomever told you that it's only covered for 1 year would have been correct, had you purchased it as a backup adapter, or if your computer was out of warranty when you purchased the adapter.
