In September, I became the the owner of a Power Book G4. Unfortunately, in November, it fell off a table and the monitor is now broken.

Since this is not covered by warranty, I have to pay for the repair -- in my area I have been getting quotes of around $1,300 -- a lot of money.

Before I commit to spending this $$, I wonder if anyone in this forum can give me information on repair services -- or if this can be repaired at all.

Ouch... unfortunately, $1300 does sound about right. Have Apple do it though, not a repair shop. It'll probably be quicker, and if there's anything else wrong, they'll repair that at the same time.
