edit: misspelled parliament. doh.
England will be deprived of the famous smirk. Oh well. To bad for us all.
No carriage ride, no speech, no public addresses, ahh poor bushie and his poodle are going to be stuck with the queen for the duration.
It's amazing the lengths rove will go to to deflect any and all negativity away from gw.
Didn't he learn in school.
Using the "pull out at the last moment" method can leave you with some serious egg on your face.
BTW - the headline for the above linked article is "Chicken George!"
Childish, I know, but humerous (it is a tabloid)
That's what Curious George does when faced with an unnerving situation -- he just doesn't show up. Just check his military record during Vietnam. It's all part of his silver-spoon-in-yap up-bringing: he doesn't think he should have to deal with anything unpleasant. "Backbenchers might heckle?! See ya!" What an infant.
Ladies and gentlemen, the chicken**** of the United States of America!
Bush needs to get the **** out of this country! I can't believe we are doing half the things we are doing for his visit, and I can't believe the nerve he had to ask some of the things he did that got turned down. (close down london for 3 days! make his own changes to buckingham palace... ARSE HOLE!)
oh yeah, then there's that small £5m police bill that needs to be paid for, and who's gonna pay for it? oh that's right, the british tax payer FFS!!!
Actually, it's only Londoners who will be paying - £2 each household!
That's even worse!
Why should Londoners have to foot the bill?
Do you have any oil? We might be able to work something out...
Otherwise piss off!
Sorry Poms, It's probabley got alot to do with what happend in Australa last month. He got yelled at and abused for the Left (ALP) and the Democrats and several members were banned for a few days.
Bush has only fooled 2 non US citizens into this war T. Blair and Little Johnny.
I bet he was too afraid to face the hecklers in the parliament who have the balls to speak out during his speech for what they believe in! At least these politicians have the courage to speak up, its a real shame he won't run the gauntlet.
He did in Australia and got blasted, sorry you guys don't have the same chance.
He was actually being yelled at about the illegal imprisonment of 2 australians in guantanamo bay. After the member who was yelling was silenced, bush smirked and said "i love free speech". Yeah, it seems as long as he doesn't have to listen to it.
Hey another Adeladeian, hows the hot weather trating you?
Anyway I agree totally,
Airconditioning is broken at work... and my powerbook is sitting at a comfy 60 degrees celcius. This weather sucks.
The minister who interupted bush is Bob Brown of the Australian Greens party. I sent him an email to let him know that i support him.
Yes, it's always good to see adelaide people online...
So bush is afraid too afraid to hear any dissent? I thought Karl Rove was trying to position bush as a tough guy.
I've heard that bush can't deal with any criticism, that he blows up and acts like a pissy little girl. Remember how he acted when someone brought up the recall of Davis when bush was trying to hype up his own campaign? I can't wait untill he has to debate Dean or Clark on TV and they let him have it...a bush tantrum for everyone to see.
now you've got me wondering if rove will find a way to get bush out of the debates.
it would seem squirrly to just say, "he's not going to," so there'd have to be a news event that day bigger than the debate....
Ahnold got out of the debates in CA until they were changed to be a scripted "debate".
