After the last one I don't see the US electing another Bush for quite a while.

Why, this seems like a wonderful idea. What could possibly go wrong?

I can see it now...after eight years of Obama, the people, the congress, and the states will decide they've had enough. They will ratify the 28th amendment, requiring that all persons to be considered for the office of the presidency be either a Bush or a Clinton.

Jeb's either got a very big head or George has a small one.

He almost looks like some punk kid grabbing onto a life-size cardboard cutout of GW at a drunken party. Agree though, huge head.

Funny thing is, if Jeb had gotten the nod rather than W., the Bush name wouldn't be nearly as sullied as it is now.

Somehow I don't think the country is going to say "well, we've had enough of the Clintons, but by all means -- bring on another Bush!"

I think you guys are taking this too far. You said in the Kennedy thread about it doesn't matter what family someone is in, and there were people saying they would vote for Mike Hitler, as long as he ran the country the way it is supposed to be.

I know almost nothing about Jeb Bush, so I am not going to make any false accusations that he is just another Dubya. From some people I know that used to live in Florida, he wasn't terrible.

Actually, Jeb had generally better than average approval ratings in Florida. When he left office in 2007, they were well over 50%.

The thing is, from what Ive heard when I visit down there, not to many people are actually happy with his leadership.

Yes, this would be an excellent way of vindicating the booting out of dynastic monarchies. Long live King Jeb I.

    you almost got it

    it goes like this:

bush, crazy extremist left winger x2 terms, bush jr. x 2 terms, crazy extremist left winger ... you left out one of clinton's terms ;)

i don't think the country would want a 3rd bush, 2nd clinton, or even another kennedy

that being said, ANY bush would have been better than the one we had for the past 8 years and all those rumors about jeb being the chosen one and w going to become the commissioner of baseball instead would have been more welcome ... history will ask us how we voted for w in the first place
