Buying an iPhone at Target & Porting Number

is it possible to do? I want to add my parents as an additional line on my plan and port there number at the same time (I'm on verizon). I know that target has had deals in the past where they discount the iphone to $149 (4S 16gb) so I am considering doing it there, but I'm not sure if they can initiate the porting process there or I have to do it after the fact. Is it even possible to do it after you've activate the new line?

Target should be able to handle the port, I've had stores deal with my ports in the past (Radio shack ported one of my AT&T lines to Sprint two years back)

But, just in case...when I moved to AT&T several years ago from Sprint/Nextel, I was able to get the phone activated with a new number and had 30 days from the sign up date to port my old number to the new account (which would then cancel the other service provider)...
