Camera connection for iPad with a Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo

Hey, first time post. Just joined the community. First time Apple owner.

My friend has an iPad with the camera connection kit and it works with his iPad and camera with his card which is a little bigger than mine.

I tried using my Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo 1gb but it would not come up on either device. Is this type of card not supported?

No, it only supports SD cards, and variations of it. Your Sony memory stick isn't an SD card. I'm surprised you got it to fit in the slot without damaging something, are they the same shape?

There are USB card readers out there that work with all sorts of different media via the camera kit, including Sony's. Check this thread (2nd page I think).

Just a bit of advice, you might want to convert and run far far away from sony proprietary formats.

Remember betamax, dat tapes, minidiscs, and umds.

If none of those ring a bell well neither will memory stick duos in 5 years.
