Anyone else is having this issue? There is an Apple discussion thread about this, sometimes when I take a picture with my iPhone 12 Pro, the image is blank. Obviously, I have not experienced any issues on iOS 17.

Example of two pictures, taken one after the other.

Haven't seen that at all. It's just intermittent? Gonna be tricky to figure out if so... but I'd start by noting if it happens only with 0.5x, 1.0x or 2.0x lenses or DEFINITELY with more than one of those. Also maybe call/chat Apple for a remote diagnostic just to ensure no issues.

This happens with default camera settings and no zoom. It is random and it can happen multiple times. For example, I tried taking a picture 3 times in a row in normal daylight, without success. They were all blank. Then I changed position and the camera worked without any issues, every time.

As a side note, I had my battery replaced at Apple Store prior os upgrade and the phone passed all hardware tests.

Is there a way to reset the camera?

Mine isn't taking blank pictures, but I am frequently having problems when I open the camera app. It will open and stay on a black screen or a blurred screen. The only way to fix it is to force quit the app and reopen it. VERY annoying when trying to quickly take a picture.

Having this exact issue, ~40-50% of all photos taken on my 12 pro end up corrupted like that. I didn’t notice and am on holiday so lost a lot of photos that I won’t be able to take again. Never ever happened on iOS 17 or prior

I solved my camera issues by performing an iPhone settings reset. Strangely, after restart, I saw certain old options disappear and the icons organization different, for example apps moved from Utilities to Productivity. It was a pain to go again through all settings configuration, but at least I can take proper pictures now.
