I'm looking for some good design books for mastering the art of Logo Design. I have my feet wet and have grasped the basics and fundamentals so to speak but feel I need to develop myself deeper/further in this area of design.

So if anyone can recommend some designer names or good books that have gone into the finer details and art of logo design, it would be most appreciated.

    Thanks.

    The Logo Bible

Certainly there are many but I am particularly fond of this one:

Logo, Font & Lettering Bible | Leslie Cabarga | Amazon Book
Cabarga, a talented illustrator and designer in his own right, does not limit examples to his own. World-renowned artists such as Gerard Huerta, Michael Doret, Tim Nikosey, Tony DiSpigna, and Seymour Chwast - four dozen in all - contribute to the wealth of inspiration.

Just the sort of recommendation I was looking for. Thanks a lot Kwill. I actually already had that link bookmarked believe it or not. :p

If anyone else has any others they are fond of , feel free to chime in.

doyald young has some really good books on logo design, but each one is around $100 (used ~$55). just google the name, and you should find the site within seconds.

The Logo Lounge books are great for inspiration and they typically have 5 - 6 case studies at the beginning which are generally pretty good reads.

'Logo' by Michael Evamy (Laurence King Publishing, ISBN-13: 978-1-85669-528-2, 2007) is a very useful reference book of existing logos.
They are categorised into groupings based on style, shapes, colours, themes, etc. and a brief history of each logo is discussed including the designer and agency.
Very useful and interesting (to logo geeks like us).
