I've heard of people plugging in a SSD in their ExpressCard slot on their MBP, installing OS X on it and booting from it.

I'm kind of confused though -- is this for the new MacBook Pros? Or will it also work on the old late model 2008 Unibody MacBook Pros?

I have the late 2008 Unibody 15" MacBook Pro. I was thinking about getting this card here http://www.amazon.com/FileMate-PCI-...dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

I think the answer is yes and that someone has described it here before.

The late 2008 model is the last 15" MBP to have an ExpressCard slot.

Wow. I didn't realize the newer 15" doesn't have a expresscard slot. Haven't been keeping up with hardware revisions.

    Thanks for the replies.
