Hi,

My iMac is 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo model purchased in April 08 with 4GB RAM. I would to upgrade one of the memory module from 2GB to 4GB, making a total of 6GB. It is possible? Or I must have the 2 modules the same "size"?

according to crucial.com no imac 2.8 ('cept for the coming quad core 2.8) made in the past will accept more than 4 gb total memory. although the chips don't need to match, the total can't exceed 4 so it appears you are already maxed out.

This site claims that it can support 6GB (1x2GB, 1x4GB) despite what Apple says. They usually have good info on this sort of thing.

*Apple officially supports 4 GB of RAM, but third-parties have been able to upgrade the system to 6 GB of RAM using one 2 GB and one 4 GB memory module.
