can I rename the name of my time machine drive?

    When I use finder the name of the time machine drive (My Passport) sorts higher than (Macintosh HD). So if I rename it will Time Machine automagically pick up on that. The reason to do so is far too many update programs spend all day looking at (My Passport) for software that is not there

    After you change it, if Time Machine does not pick it up automatically, you can select it from the Time Machine preferences panel.

    Well shoot, apparently its not a sorting order. It is always the first device listed, it always appears before the Macintosh HD entry.
