Can I stream movies from my HD(hooked up to Airport Extreme) to Apple TV?

I have an Airport Extreme with a 1 TB HD hooked up to it. I can view the HD from my MBP and my PC. Ideally, I would like to put movies on the HD(GoPro movies) and view them on my ATV? Is this possible? THANKS!

Your Appletv can't access them without a computer or an iOS device using AirPlay running something like the FileBrowser app...unless you Appletv is jailbroken.
