    Hi everyone,

I'm a proud owner of an iPhone 2g who just got my hands on both an iPhone 4 and a Macbook Pro. Only problem is: the computer to which I used to sync my previous phone is dead - HDD issue :( . While I was able to recover my music and videos with DeTune, I'm afraid to erase my apps data on my iPhone 2g when I try to sync it on my mac - note: I'm also using another apple ID now that I have a macbook, and I'll leave my previous account to my father who has another iPhone. Can I somehow choose to sync only my contacts/calendar? Or is the data on my apps preserved when I sync? Or do I have to sync using my old apple ID to preserve the apps content?

    Thanks for your thought.

I think you can uncheck 'sync apps' in iTunes and it will leave them alone.

. . . Dumb question, simple answer... Thanks for the reminder guys :D

Now I have a second problem... I have synced my late's iPhone contacts with my Mac, but when I tried to sync them to my new iPhone, they show up in a separate group - Mac's contacts or something like that - and won't sync with iCloud... Any clue why is this happening - and more importantly, how do I get my contacts to go to my cloud?

Thanks once again for your thoughts
