So my friend recently got an iPod touch, and she kept finding that there were apps she couldn't download cuz she said they're iPhone only. But after seeing she was on OS 2, I realized she probably got an error message about it requiring iPhone OS 3.0 (there are parts of the iPod touch OS that still say iPhone, the iPhone is clearly the favored child, so that's probably what confused her). Kinda lame that they're still shipping them with the old OS and charging for an upgrade, but whatever.

My question is, if I connect her iPod to my iTunes, can I upgrade her to 3.0 (since I upgraded, so the 3.0 software should be on my computer) without having to purchase it again? If so, would this be a violation of the terms, or is 1 purchase allowed to update as many iPods as you want? Lastly, if I did update her, would I have to disassociate her iPod from her iTunes, making her completely resync afterwards, or could I upgrade the software without changing anything else?
