Can I use a 12W iPad charger to charge my iPhone?

I've been using one to charge my iPhone 5 for ages without an issue.

Sorry folks. Just found a big thread on this from Sept last year. Consensus says it will be fine.

Yup, it will be fine. Apple themselves show that that charger is compatible with the iPhones (given that the device regulates the power that it needs from the charger).
