One thing Im worried about is buying a new product and then there being a revision a couple months down the line. Say for example they eventually decide to add widgets to the iPod touch, would that be just a simple update away or would that be available only on newer iPod touch's?

Typically, they don't add functionality through software updates, but I have a feeling that the iPod Touch may be treated differently.
